1. Controller

The controller responsible for data processing on this website is:
Gillian Scharf, Kudlichgasse 21/7, 1100 Vienna, Austria
Email: gillian@videowien.at · Phone: +43 676 9249322 · VAT ID: ATU79919705

2. General

Protecting your personal data is important to us. We process your data exclusively on the basis of the statutory provisions (GDPR, Austrian Telecommunications Act TKG 2021). This privacy policy informs you about the most important aspects of data processing on this website.

3. Hosting and delivery

This website is hosted by Hetzner Online GmbH (Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany) on servers within the EU. When you visit the website, technically necessary data (e.g. IP address, date and time of access, page visited, browser type) is processed in order to provide the website securely and reliably. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in the secure and efficient operation of the website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Hosting takes place exclusively on servers within the EU. For data processing by embedded videos, see section 7.

4. Cookies

This website uses no cookies, neither for marketing or tracking purposes nor for technical reasons. A cookie banner is therefore not required.

5. Contacting us

If you contact us (e.g. via an inquiry form, by email or by phone), the data you provide (e.g. name, email address, phone number, content of your message) is stored to process your inquiry and for any follow-up questions. The legal basis is the initiation or performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and our legitimate interest in answering your inquiry (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We do not pass on this data without your consent and delete it as soon as processing is complete and no statutory retention obligations apply.

6. Audience measurement with Plausible Analytics

For statistical analysis of website usage, we use Plausible Analytics, a service of Plausible Insights OÜ (Estonia, EU). Plausible works entirely without cookies and does not collect personal data. No cookies are set and no data is combined across devices or websites. All measurement data is collected in aggregated and anonymous form; IP addresses are only processed briefly and in hashed form and are not stored. Processing takes place exclusively within the EU. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in privacy-friendly audience measurement (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

7. Embedded videos via Wistia

This website embeds videos from the provider Wistia, Inc. (Cambridge, MA, USA). Wistia is configured in the privacy-friendly “Do Not Track” mode: no cookies are set and no personal tracking takes place. When you play a video, a connection to Wistia's servers is established, and your IP address is processed to deliver the video. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in an appealing presentation of our services (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Data transfers to the USA are safeguarded by standard contractual clauses.

8. Teleprompter

At videowien.at/teleprompter we provide a free teleprompter. Scripts and settings you enter there are stored exclusively in your browser's local storage on your device and are never transmitted to us or to third parties; our server only delivers the application's files. The data remains until you delete it, clear your browser's website data or close a private window. This storage serves solely the function you requested and is strictly necessary within the meaning of § 165(3) TKG 2021.

The optional voice control uses the speech recognition built into your browser (Web Speech API). Your browser converts your speech into text and passes this text locally to the teleprompter so it can follow your reading position. We do not record, store or receive your voice. Depending on the browser, the conversion is carried out by the browser vendor on its servers: by Google in Google Chrome, by Apple in Safari (often directly on the device). This processing takes place between you and your browser vendor under its privacy policy. The microphone is only active while voice control is switched on; it is not used when scrolling manually. Visits to the teleprompter pages are counted with Plausible Analytics like the rest of the website (see section 6).

9. Fonts

Fonts are loaded locally from our server. There is no connection to third-party servers (e.g. Google Fonts); no personal data is transmitted to third parties.

10. Your rights

In principle, you have the rights to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, withdrawal of consent and objection. If you believe that the processing of your data violates data protection law, you can complain to us (gillian@videowien.at) or to the supervisory authority. In Austria, this is the Datenschutzbehörde (Austrian Data Protection Authority, Barichgasse 40–42, 1030 Vienna, dsb@dsb.gv.at, www.dsb.gv.at).
